The Petzl Swift RL Headlamp features:
Petzl Swift RL Headlamp Description:
Very bright and lightweight: 900 lumens for a weight of only 100 g
Optimized comfort and burn time:
– Longer burn time, greater visual comfort and less manual operation with REACTIVE LIGHTING® mode, which allows the light sensor to automatically adjust brightness and beam pattern, optimizing battery usage
– Minimum burn time of 5 hours in REACTIVE LIGHTING® mode (STANDARD level), built to power through long activities
– Visual comfort enhanced by the mixed beam, which provides high-performance lighting for outdoor activities: proximity vision, movement and distance vision
– Comfortable fit provided by the ergonomic adjustable headband, with two-part construction (Petzl patent) for optimal stability during dynamic activities
– Reflective headband to remain visible at night
– Lithium-Ion 2350 mAh battery, rechargeable via the type B micro USB port, with battery charge indicator
Intuitive and convenient:
– Ease of use, with a single button providing control of all functions: ON/OFF, lighting modes, brightness and locking
– Choice of two lighting modes, selected with a long hold: REACTIVE LIGHTING® or STANDARD LIGHTING
– LOCK function to avoid accidentally turning on the lamp during transit or storage, or to lock lighting settings during your activity
– Five-level gauge for precise monitoring of the battery charge level
– Headlamp can be tilted upward to see ahead when worn around the neck

How is lighting performance measured with the ANSI/PLATO FL1 protocol?
ANSI/PLATO FL1
Burn time (hours)
This corresponds to the length of time during which lighting is optimal. It is measured 30
seconds after the lamp is turned on and for as long as the lamp takes to drop to 10 %
of maximum light output.
Lighting distance (meters)
This is the maximum distance between the lamp and the location where only 0.25 lux of
illumination remains. The measurement is taken when the lamp is turned on, using new
batteries. Lighting distance depends directly on brightness, but mainly on the shape of
the beam.
Brightness (lumens)
This measurement is taken between 30 and 120 seconds after the headlamp is turned
on. It indicates the maximum light output, when the lamp is first turned on, using new batteries.
Reserve lighting (outside the scope of ANSI/PLATO FL1)
In addition to these measures, Petzl guarantees reserve lighting. Reserve lighting provides enough light for walking. However, the light may not be sufficient for fast-paced
activities (such as running, mountain biking, skiing…).
About Petzl
The Petzl Group mission is to create innovative tools and services that allow men and women to progress, position, and protect themselves in vertical environments, as well as to light their way in the dark.
The Petzl adventure began with Fernand Petzl’s passion for caving, a passion to which he dedicated his talents as a craftsman. Petzl expertise began to grow with the design and crafting of solutions for ascending, descending, belaying and moving about in the dark. In 1970, the first “Fernand Petzl” brand products were produced in a workshop in Saint-Nazaire-Les-Eymes, Isère, France. Since then, the Petzl company, established in 1975, has grown into an international enterprise, all the while preserving its personal feel and the passion that drove Fernand Petzl.
